CraftStone used in a number of Anytime Fitness Outlets through Australia

Anytime fitness, the global fitness franchise has chosen CraftStone to be fitted as a feature wall to a number of its outlets throughout Australia. There are now around 70 clubs Australia wide in just the two years the franchise has been operating in the country. This is not the first time CraftStone has been preferred by a high profile company. Austech Building Products supplied the fitness chain with different blends of CraftStone in an attempt to revamp and redesign many of their Australian stores.

The CraftStone range offers many different colours, textures and profiles including a unique corner system that eradicates untidy mitre joints. The two blends from the Vintage Ledgestone series that were specified for the project were the mocha and ocean mist colours. Austech were more than happy to partner with one of Australia's fast growing businesses in delivering them a high quality product, adding to the long list of satisfied Austech customers.

CraftStone can be used in your next project. With the elegance and beauty of natural stone, this product can be applied to a number of circumstances, from an interior feature wall, fireplace, columns or even water features to name a few. Its lightweight nature allows for ease of installation and unique corner pieces eliminate the replica look that many other manufactured stones have.

Extruded v's Expanded Polystyrene

There is often a great deal of confusion between expanded (EPS) and extruded polystyrene(XPS), with many people assuming they are essentially the same, but in fact expanded and extruded polystyrene are very different products.

Firstly there is the manufacturing procedure involved in creating the product. Expanded Polystyrene(EPS) is made using small expandable beads that inflate with heat, and then are placed into a mould, where they expand to fit the shape. The expanded beads trap air, which gives expanded polystyrene its insulation properties, but also leaves it venerable to water absorption, reducing the insulations effectiveness over time.

Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) is made by mixing polystyrene pellets with chemicals that liquefy the pellets. A blowing agent is then injected into the mixture, forming billions of miniature air pockets. This frothing mixture is then pushed through a shaping die to give the required size and minimise wastage. Once cooled the boards can be further shaped and wastage returned into the manufacturing process.

Why Install Vinyl Cladding

Vinyl cladding, also called vinyl siding, refers to plastic exterior cladding for homes and commercial buildings. The siding is used as an alternative to traditional wood, fiber cement, and aluminum cladding. The cladding is made up of about 80% polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin and the remaining 20%, ingredients to give the material its color, gloss, opacity, flexibility, durability, and impact resistance. Vinyl siding has been in the market since the late 50s and it is today one of the most popular exterior building products in the U.S. and Canada. There are several reasons why you should consider installing vinyl cladding.

This is one of the most affordable sidings in the market. You will spend between 25% and 50% less than what you would have spent on aluminum and wood siding. Most vinyl cladding manufacturers offer competitive warranties.

Many people neglect their homes' exteriors, but waterproofing the exterior is important because it improves the longevity of your walls and it saves you money on repairs. A strong wall is also important for your security.

Custom Cubbies uses Duratuff Select Vinyl Cladding

Custom Cubbies are a family owned and run Australian business that specializes in not only children's cubbies, but also in sheds, cabins and any other outdoor building you could need. Custom Cubbies now offer Duratuff Select Vinyl Cladding on all their products, helping owners benefit from maintenance free cubbies that last longer and look better.

The key concern in designing cubbies for children is safety and durability. Vinyl cladding will not rot, split or peel so there is no danger of splinters. On top of this it needs to last, cladding is designed to be impact resistant, colour fast and easy to clean.

One huge issue for Custom Cubbies was transportation. The Cubbies are pre-fabricated in their factory and shipped all over Australia. The shipping process often lead to damage to the exterior cladding, but with Vinyl this is rarely a problem since it doesn't scratch, dent or crack.

Vinyl Cladding used over Brick on the Central Coast

A Central Coast couple recently decided to clad over their brick home with Duratuff Viny Wall Cladding, an unusual but smart choice that has breathed life into this once old and dark home.

The house had old and dull bricks that made it look tired and uninviting. The owners were told to render it, but they knew render was very expensive and high maintenance. They were also instructed to just paint the brick, but they didn't want to be locked into years of peeling paint and repainting.

After much deliberation, they chose Cladding & Re-Roofing Pty Ltd to install Duratuff Select Vinyl Wall Cladding to cover their entire house, and chose the colour 'Heather', a soft gray that complimented their existing Colorbond fence. Cladding & Re-Roofing Pty Ltd was also able to provide them with the Dulux colour matched colour for their cladding, so they could paint the remaining footings to match the cladding.
